Having suffered yet another humiliating defeat last week, what was once a sewn-up championship win has become a bit too close for comfort.
Toby is now hot on my heels and J-Bizzle is catching so the pressure is starting to get to me a bit.
I'm desperately trying to avoid d…

This week I've been running up mountains, chopping bits of wood and picking up rocks, all while mumbling 'no pain' to myself in preparation for this week's Journal Snooker League fixture.
Toby on the other hand has taken the day off for some dubious hi-tech training which includes practices that are, frankly, frowned upon by the IOC.
Click the link below and all will become clear.

Eddie the Eagle in ski jumping, Eric the Eel in swimming. Add to that list Neil the Newt for crimes against snooker.
I was horrible last night, which serves me right really for writing in this week's bins feature about "thrashing my colleagues at snooker". I've clearly angered the…

It's the next round of the soon to be legendary Journal Snooker League tonight.
Toby had the afternoon off... almost certainly so he could spend around five hours practicing for tonights game.
He met Lewis Hamilton this week and declared the pocket-sized driver "isn't as short as you'd think". He's clearly made the mistake of comparing Hamilton's height to his own and given Toby carries a little box around the table for his shots and needs to use the rest to break off, it's not hard to see whe…

Apologies for the delay but worry not - the Journal Snooker League has not yet perished in the Siberian winter.
We've had a couple of weeks off but returned on Thursday for more top quality potting action.
Despite the break, very little has changed. We played four frames with y…

"I love to play bad and win."
- World cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro
Fixture four in the Journal Snooker Championships last night. Iwas thrashed into third place in the first frame and thought my run of success had finally come to an end.
But true champions find a way to ov…

With the latest Battle of the Baize only hours away here's my final blog before the big third fixture of the Journal Snooker League 2009.
I left the house this morning without my cue. After much soul searching I decided it was probably worth the 30 second walk back up the street to p…

I thought I would put a quick update online before the much anticipated third league fixture on Thursday. On Saturday me and Toby played a practice match at Hunters- basically because he pitifully pleaded that he needed the practice.
I swept to a quick three frames to nil lead an…

Each week myself, sports editor John Burgess and photographer Toby Roberts do battle over the baize at Hunters Bar in Grantham as part of out Journal Snooker League 2009.
As, after two weeks, I'm flying away in the lead I've decided to publicise the fact in as many ways as possible- inc…
