Stephen Edwards No Consensus, No Party

elpresidenteIt's hard to know exactly where to stand on the vexed issue of "climate change" nee "global warming". If one accepts the evidence put out by most of the mainstream media then there is very little room for doubt. The planet is heating up and the heating is due to human activity. The polar ice is melting… Continue

Stephen Edwards Insult To Injury

elpresidente

So it is true then. In today's gaga Britain where absurdities morph seamlessly into the commonplace it is hard to be surprised any more. It is hard to be astonished by any single twist emanating from the body of the political elite snake. It seems the bewildered peo

Steve Cattell The real climate change catastrophe

The real climate change catastrophe In a startling new book, Christopher Booker reveals how a handful of scientists, who have pushed flawed theories on global warming for decades, now threaten to take us back to the Dark Ages Next Thursday marks the first anniversary of one of the most remarkable events ever to take place in the House of Commons. For six hours MPs debated what was far and away the most expensive piece of legislation ever put before Parliament. The Climate Change Bill laid dow… Continue

Steve Cattell Meanwhile, back in cold reality...

Meanwhile, back in cold reality... For the third year running there are signs of an abnormally hard winter in many parts of the world, says Christopher Booker. By Christopher Booker Published: 6:18PM BST 17 Oct 2009 Not many people in Britain were aware, I suspect, that 20 per cent of the entire United States was last week covered in snow, the greatest October snow cover the country had known for years (for details see the Watts Up With That website). Similarly unseasonable snowfalls blanket… Continue

Steve Cattell Sceptics welcome BBC report on 'global cooling'

Sceptics welcome BBC report on 'global cooling' Climate change sceptics have welcomed a “surprise” BBC decision to give prominence to evidence from leading scientists that there could be 30 years of “global cooling”. Under the headline `Whatever happened to Global Warming?’, the BBC has reported that the warmest year recorded globally was 1998, and for the last 11 years no increase in global temperatures has been observed. The report by the BBC climate correspondent, Paul Hudson, which provok… Continue

Stephen Edwards Dave

dave_on_the_bus

I'm hearing a lot about "Dave" recently. Firstly, if I am not mistaken, there is the "Dave" taken to mean "that bloke down the pub". A sort of modern day "man on the Clapham omnibus" whose opinions would tend to correspond with the views of a reasonab

Caroline Spelman has responded to new evidence that emerged today of Gordon Brown’s secret plans for council tax hikes on family homes. A new electronic Government tax handbook, complete with audio commentary, reveals how taxmen are being trained to conduct inspections of people’s homes and tax every home improvement and room. Steve Cattell Arctic ice proves to be slippery stuff

The extent of the sea-ice is now half a million square kilometres more than it was this time last year, says Christopher Booker. BBC viewers were treated last week to the bizarre spectacle of Mr Ban Ki-moon standing on an Arctic ice-floe making a series of statements so laughable that it was hard to believe such a man can be Secretary-General of the UN. Thanks to global warming, he claimed, "100 billion tons" of polar ice are melting each year, so that within 30 years the Arctic could be "ice-… Continue

Steve Cattell yet another soldier killed

please, can anyone tell me why we are in Afghanistan? They still haven't fixed the election results and what is so important about elections anyway - they never had them before? Why do the troops go out - kill a few taliban, take casualties themselves then come back to base leaving the area so that the taliban can take it over again? Can you imagine on 6th June 1944 the Allies landing then leaving the following week to do it all again a month later? Well that is what they are doing in Afghanist… Continue

Steve Cattell passport application - so true

Dear Minister I'm in the process of renewing my passport but I am a total loss to understand or believe the hoops I am being asked to jump through. How is it that Bert Smith of T.V. Rentals Basingstoke has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a satellite dish from them back in 1994, and yet, the Government is still asking me where I was born and on what date? How come that nice West African immigrant chappy who comes round every Thursday night with his DVD rentals van can t… Continue

Parking at Lincoln and Boston Pilgrim will only be increased by 50p to £2.50 while parking at Louth remains unchanged. Steve Cattell Baby P

I just couldn't read what horrific torture poor baby Peter had to endure, not because I am squeamish but because I am so angry that really nothing has been done. His mother received only 3 years in prison for some reason, her boyfriend 12 years (Biggs received 30 for armed robbery remember) but apart from losing their jobs, none of the totally incompetent idiots from the Council, the Police and the NHS have been punished in the slightest. How can they miss a little boy with fingernails pulled o… Continue
